Kyiv received list of 600 people whom DPR, LPR want released

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is determining the procedural status of each of the 618 people who are on a list provided to the Ukrainian authorities from some areas of the occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions, SBU head Vasyl Hrytsak said.

Responding to a question from Interfax on the negotiations on exchange using the "618 for 47" formula, he said: "We were given a list of people who, as they believe, are held by us The SBU is now working to determine the procedural status of each person on this list."

Hrytsak said there may be people on the list who are under investigation, people who are on trial and people who are already serving their sentences, including people who could have received suspended prison sentences and are already free.

He said SBU is working to determine these people's whereabouts, besides determining their procedural status.

"Very difficult negotiations are being conducted in Minsk on the release [of the prisoners], on every name on these lists. We are open, we show lists," Hrytsak said.
