Turchynov notes importance of Ukrainian diaspora assistance in disseminating objective information about Ukraine

Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov has met with a delegation of the Ukrainian World Congres and the sides have discussed issues of opposition to Russian aggression, including opposition to the hybrid war being waged not only on the battlefield, but also in the information sphere, the press service of the National Security and Defense Council said on Thursday night.

"The diaspora’s assistance is of great importance in spreading objective information about Ukraine and the exposure of Russian propaganda lie," the statement says.

"It is the co-operation in this area that is an important priority for the establishment of a strategic communication and resistance to Russian information aggression," Turchynov said.

In turn, representatives of the diaspora said they are doing everything possible to assist Ukraine in the war of liberation and the liberation of the occupied territories, along with decent representation of Ukraine in the world.

The Ukrainian World Congress is the largest public organization of Ukrainians living either on the territory of Ukraine or abroad. Ukrainian diaspora numbers more than 20 million people in the world, most of them Ukrainian citizens.
