A court hearing on the case of former members of the Tornado special patrol police squad in Kyiv's Obolon district court, which was scheduled for Wednesday, August 3, was postponed until 11:30 Kyiv time on August 9, and will be held behind closed doors, according to a court press secretary.

"Police officers have told us they are unable to deliver the suspect to the courtroom. In this connection, the court hearing with the participation of lawyers, prosecutors and judges will be postponed until 11:30 on August 9. In keeping with laws, the hearing will be held behind closed doors," press secretary of Kyiv's Obolon district court Inna Svynarenko told reporters outside the court building on Wednesday.

Lawyer of the Tornado members Volodymyr Yakimov told Interfax-Ukraine that he confirmed that information. According to him, the next court hearings are scheduled for August 9 and August 10. In his words, the hearings take place every Tuesday and Wednesday in keeping with the scheduled approved by the court.

Yakimov said the defense had been informed that the suspects would not be brought to court on August 3 but the reason had not been mentioned.
