The number of ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine has grown by a quarter over the past week, especially in the Donetsk sector, OSCE Special Monitoring Mission Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug said.

The number of shelling incidents observed by mission members has grown by 25% week-on-week, Hug said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Friday.

Tensions escalated in all traditional hotbeds, especially near Horlivka, Yasynuvate and Donetsk airport, and the number of artillery shelling incidents doubled, he said.
