Russia has yet to fulfill Donbas ceasefire obligations under the Minsk agreements, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said at a joint press briefing with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Monday.

Trudeau said he hoped that international unity and clearly defined expectations would spur on fulfillment of the Minsk agreements and would ensure pressure on Russia to boost that process and change the security situation for the better.

Ukraine has taken important steps in the implementation of its commitments under the Minsk deal, the Canadian prime minister said.

He also said that Canada intended to promote Russia's fulfillment of the Minsk agreements.
