A joint brigade of Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine has started field training according to a stabilization operation scenario as part of Anaconda 2016 exercise, which is to be hosted by the Polish military base in Nowa Deba on June 17, reads a report posted on the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's website on Tuesday, June 7.

Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade Commander Adam Joks said that the exercise would open up good opportunities for deeper cooperation between its member countries, allow them to improve the level of training and improve mutual understanding between servicemen.

"Anaconda 2016 gives the command of the brigade and subdivisions a chance to confirm mutual compatibility as well as establish cooperation with the existing and potential partners," Joks said.

Deputy Commander of the brigade, Volodymyr Yudanov, added that the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade is participating in the first significant military training since it was set up on January 26, 2016.

Anaconda 2016 exercise is held at the largest training bases of the Armed Forces of Poland. More than 31,000 servicemen from 23 countries of the world are involved in it.
