Cabinet approves priority action plan of government for 2016

The Cabinet of Ministers at an extraordinary meeting on May 27 endorsed the priority action plan for 2016.

"The decision has been made," Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said at the meeting.

Before the approval of the document, the head of government said the plan had been discussed with public and professional organizations, such as the European Business Association, the American Chamber of Commerce, the Reanimation Package of Reforms, as well as people's deputies. The document has been approved by the National Reforms Council.

The premier stressed the implementation of the plan should ensure accountability. He ordered setting up a monitoring and evaluation system.

According to him, the first report on the plan implementation will be made in July.

Vice Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv, in turn, said the document could be supplemented during the work.

When discussing the plan, trade unions criticized the document as only 16 of the 76 made proposals were taken into account. They called for social dialogue.
