Member of Parliament Nadia Savchenko says that she would prefer to remain a pilot of the Air Force of Ukraine but she will work where Ukraine needs her.

"I'd like to fly… but I'll do what it is necessary for Ukraine. It doesn't matter where to defend Ukraine. Even in the battlefield if needed," she said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday when answering a question whether she plans to return to service for the Armed Forces of Ukraine or to become a politician.

Answering a question about her plans for the near future and a possible world tour, she said that as any intelligent person, she would like to see the world and communicate with people to spread the truth about Ukraine and help her country that way.

Later she said that she was supported by many countries of the world. "I'll come to every country and thank every nation," she said.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, Savchenko's press conference took place at the Palace of Sports in the center of Kyiv, and a large screen was installed outside the building to broadcast the event.

In the room where the press conference took place there were over 200 Ukrainian and foreign media representatives, about a hundred TV cameras. Members of Parliament and Savchenko's supporters were also present.

Prior to the event, Savchenko and the people who gathered near outside the Palace of Sports building sang the national anthem of Ukraine.
