Ukrainian presidential website publishes decree pardoning Yerofeyev and Alexandrov dated May 24

The decree pardoning Russian intelligence officers Alexander Alexandrov and Yevgeny Yerofeyev was published on the official website of the Ukrainian president on Wednesday.

Decree No.221/2016 On Pardoning Convicts is dated May 24. "Having reviewed the request to pardon the persons convicted by Ukrainian courts, the proposals made by the Pardons Commission and other circumstances, in accordance with Item 27 of Article 106 of the Constitution of Ukraine, I decree to pardon Alexander Anatolyevich Alexandrov, born in 1987, who was convicted by the Kyiv Holosiyivskiy District Court on April 18, 2016, and exempt from the main and additional punishments; Yevgeny Vladimirovich Yeroveyev, born in 1985, who was convicted by the Kyiv Holosiyivskiy District Court on April 18, 2016, and exempt from the main and additional punishments," the decree says.

The decree took effect on the day it was signed.
