Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi during his visit to the People's Republic of China.

"China confirmed its support of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Both parties agreed that the strategic relations between Ukraine and China do not depend on the third parties," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service said in a statement issued on Wednesday.

The two foreign ministers finalized a schedule of the upcoming bilateral contacts, including the preparation for a regular sitting of the Chinese-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Cooperation Commission.

"The parties agreed on practical steps for liberalization of the visa regime between the two countries," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said without elaborating.

The status and prospects of joint infrastructure projects were also discussed during the meeting.

"The Chinese foreign minister voiced the support of Ukraine's participation in the 'One Belt, One Road' initiative," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

The sides also agreed on the need to reform the United Nations Security Council to make it more efficient in current conditions.
