Yatseniuk asks Rada to accept his resignation as Ukraine's PM

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has asked parliamentarians to accept his resignation and has thanked both his supporters and opponents.

"I ask you to accept my resignation. There are major tasks and achievements ahead of us," Yatseniuk said in the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday.

He thanked the People's Front faction, his allies in the coalition, as well as thanked his 'opponents and enemies" for making him stronger.

A great deal has been done jointly for the benefit of the country and the people, "but it is necessary to move forward," he added.
