Pentagon is not planning any joint operation with Russia, including thwarting a militant concentration near Aleppo, Syria.

U.S. Defense Department spokeswoman Michelle Baldanza told Interfax on Monday that the Department is not planning any operations with Russia and is not cooperating or coordinating efforts with Russia.

She said their focus in Syria remains on undermining, weakening and destroying ISIL (banned in Russia), to which end the Department uses various channels, including equipment and gear of local forces who want and can fight ISIL.

At the same time, Baldanza stressed that the U.S. welcomes Russia's resolve to fight ISIL in Syria all the while implementing the ceasefire agreement.
