Ukraine's economic growth resumes in Q4 2015 - Yatseniuk

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said that Ukraine's economic growth resumed in the fourth quarter of 2015.

"Despite the fact that the country lost one fifth of its economy, lost Crimea, a part of Donetsk and Luhansk regions due to Russia's military aggression first in the fourth quarter of last year we saw economic growth," he said in the parliament on Friday.

The prime minister did not disclose the concrete figure.

According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine's GDP in Q3 2015 fell by 7.2% year-over-year, and it grew by 0.5% compared to Q2 2015.

In Q1 2015 the decline was 17.2% and in Q2 2015 – 14.6%.

In 2016, the government anticipates that GDP will grow by 2% and the NBU believes that it will grow by 1.1% with slow of inflation to 12%. The average hryvnia exchange rate forecast is UAH 24.1/$1.

According to the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, in Q4 2015, GDP rose by 0.2% compared to the previous quarter and in 2015 it fell by 10.4% after a decline of 17.2% in 2014.
