Poroshenko appoints Kolesnikov, Moisyk as Constitutional Court judges

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has appointed member of the Constitutional Commission Victor Kolesnikov and the former member of parliament Volodymyr Moisyk as the judges of the Constitutional Court, the president's press service reported.

The president signed relevant decrees No. 22/2016 and No. 23/2016

Kolesnik previously worked as the head of the department of constitutional and legal issues at the state-building department of the Research Institute of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine. He has a decree of Doctor of Law. Since 2004, he has been the professor at the Department of the Constitutional Law of Ukraine at the National Law University named after Yaroslav the Wise. He was engaged by the Council of Europe as an expert in the preparation of a report on the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with the European Convention on Human Rights. He has published more than 180 research papers.

Moisyk has a PhD in law. He worked as a judge of the Zaliznychny District Court of Kyiv, Kyiv City Court, and the Supreme Court of Ukraine. In 2005-2010, he was an adviser to the president of Ukraine. He was elected a member of parliaments of the fourth, fifth and sixth convocations.
