Ukrainian army again reports strikes by militants in Donbas

Militants have violated the ceasefire along the contact line in Donbas on 35 occasions in the past 24 hours, the press center of the headquarters of Kyiv's army operation in eastern Ukraine has reported.

Small arms, grenade launchers and large-caliber submachine guns were fired on Ukrainian military positions in Pisky, Opytne and Avdiyivka, an anti-tank grenade launcher was used against Ukrainian armed forces near Maryinka, and a sniper was operating in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka, the press center said on its Facebook on Tuesday.

Near Novhorodske, Zaitseve and Mayorsk, located to the north of Horlivka, militants' units also fired small arms, grenade launchers and large-caliber submachine guns seeking to provoke Ukraine's armed forces to return fire.

An armed clash involving small arms broke out in the same area, in the vicinity of Semyhirya village. Militants' units were eventually forced to retreat.

Militants also fired an 82mm mortar near Troitske, located on the border of the Donetsk and the Luhansk regions, the press center said.

In a separate development, Ukrainian military positions near the village of Krymske in the Luhansk region came under grenade launcher and 120mm mortar fire on Monday evening, the press center said.
