Ukrainian army positions in Donbas came under 20 attacks in the small hours of Wednesday with the purpose of forcing Ukrainian units to return fire, the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press center wrote on Facebook on Wednesday morning.

"They tried to provoke Ukrainian servicemen to open fire 20 times," the report said.

It also claimed that Ukrainian positions came under random fire of small arms, grenade launchers and large-caliber machineguns in Pisky, Opytne and Avdiyivka near Donetsk, as well as in Novhorodske and Luhanske.

Ukrainian army positions in Pisky were shelled by 82mm mortars at around midnight, the report alleged.
