Action demanding Ukrainian govt dismissal being held near Verkhovna Rada where Biden awaited

Up to 400 representatives of the Svoboda party are calling for a dismissal of the Ukrainian Cabinet headed by Arseniy Yatseniuk near Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada, where U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden is expected to deliver a speech on Tuesday.

Svoboda activists have gathered in Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) in central Kyiv and have marched to the parliament building, an Interfax correspondent reported.

Participants of the action with party and national flags are staying in Constitution Square near the central entrance to the Verkhovna Rada. Activists are carrying posters with demands to dismiss the prime minister, chanting: "Down with the corrupt government!"

Meanwhile, around 20 people with UKROP party flags have gathered near the Rada building, demanding an end to the criminal prosecution of leader of this political force Hennadiy Korban.

Public security has been tightened around the parliament building.

As previously reported, U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden will deliver a speech at the Ukrainian parliament on Tuesday.
