One power line linking Kherson region and Crimea resumed operations

The Kakhovsky-Titan overhead power line supplying electricity to two districts of Ukraine's Kherson region - the Kalanchak and Chaplin districts - was reconnected to the power grid at around 1:15 a.m. local time on Tuesday, the press service of the Kherson region's state administration has reported.

"The reconnection took place with the consent of participants in the Crimea electricity and food blockade action," acting head of the Chaplin district administration Vitaliy Spizhov said.

"The 220 kV Kakhovka-Tytan line was reconnected to the power grid. The action activists, with whom we are holding dialogue all the time, are staying at the site where the power line pylons were blown up and are guarding the other two damaged power lines," Spyzhov said.

After the Kakhovka-Tytan power line was disabled, these two districts of Kherson region received electricity using a fallback power circuit, which saw an emergency shutdown more than once, especially over the past week.

Ihor Bosko, head of the Ukrenergo company's Kherson long-distance power grid, has confirmed reports that the Kakhovka-Tytan power line was reconnected to the power grid.
