Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel have conferred on the Ukrainian reforms and the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

"Mrs. Merkel fully supports our efforts in the country's reforms; she is our reliable partner," Poroshenko told reporters after he had met with Merkel in Paris on Monday.

The meeting highlighted the visa-free travel regime between Ukraine and the European Union, financial and consultative support to the Ukrainian reforms and coordinated actions of Ukraine and Germany in the 'Normandy format', he said.

"We planned to coordinate our efforts in the 'Normandy format' and to raise the efficiency of the Trilateral Contact Group and discussed practical steps towards higher security along the contact line," Poroshenko said.

In addition, Poroshenko and Merkel spoke about enhancing the efficiency of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in the context of Germany's presidency in that organization in 2016.

The Ukrainian president said he had had over 30 meetings with heads of state and government on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Summit in Paris.
