Kyiv insists on access by OSCE SMM to non-controlled part of Ukrainian-Russian border - Kuchma's spokesperson

Members of the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) should be given access to the Ukrainian-Russian border where it is not controlled by Ukraine, Darka Olifer, a spokesperson for Leonid Kuchma, who represents Ukraine in the Trilateral Contact Group, said after the Group held a video conference on Tuesday.

The Group also discussed how to improve technical support for SMM representatives, she said.

"OSCE SMM representatives should be allowed into the part of the Ukrainian-Russian border which is not controlled by Ukraine. The number of monitoring devices used by OSCE SMM representatives, in particular, drones and video surveillance devices, should be increased in the very near future," she told Interfax.

Ukraine once again confirmed that it has fulfilled its obligation to remove military weapons with a caliber of less than 100 millimeters, Kuchma's spokesperson said. At the same time, OSCE SMM representatives and officers from the Joint Center for Control and Coordination note in their reports a sharp rise in the number of shell attacks and ceasefire breaches in the past ten days.
