Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has stated an increase in terrorist threat, including in Ukraine.

"We now have new threats because we received information on possible connections between Islamic terrorists and those who are in Ukraine after the horrible attack in Paris. Yesterday [November 14] I issued absolutely clear orders on the assessment of risks, threats and cooperation with foreign partners to protect peace and calm in Ukraine," Poroshenko said after voting at a polling station in Kyiv on Sunday.

The president added, citing information provided by the Ukrainian intelligence, that "we will keep tight security for at least two weeks to protect peace and citizens' health and freedoms." "For this reason, I would very much like this day to be calm and peaceful and we want those who have people's trust to be able to get the powers of the new administration," Poroshenko said.
