SBU searches Style D Dnipropetrovsk office to investigate financing of terrorism

Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out a search on Thursday of the head office of Style D LLC (Dnipropetrovsk) which develops the ProStor chain of perfumes and cosmetics stores, and seized documents and computers.

The company's director general, Denys Herman, told Interfax-Ukraine that the search was carried out under a criminal case on the alleged involvement of the company in the financing of terrorism.

"They opened a criminal case on our alleged involvement in financing terrorists, but the decree does not contain any periods or concrete facts," he said.

Herman said that Style D stopped operating in the territory of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic where around 20 ProStor stores were located in September 2014. The stores were subsequently looted.

He said that SBU officers planned to search the residence of the financial director and chief accountant of the company.

Style D was created in 2002. Its first store was opened in Dnipropetrovsk in July 2005.

ProStor is the largest national retail chain under the drogerie format.

Its private label portfolio includes the Bona, NEO, Violetta and VIVAfruts brands.

As of November 2, 2015, the chain included 241 stores in Ukraine.
