Militants continue shelling positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the militant-controlled city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation Headquarters reported.

"As was the case in the past few days, militants continue provocative shelling of our positions. Today, from 08:50 to 18:00 Kyiv time, the combined Russian-separatist forces were shelling the village of Opytne, the town of Avdiyivka, and the village of Pisky [near the ruined Donetsk airport] from small arms. What is more, the village of Opytne and the town of Krasnohorivka were attacked by militants using automatic grenade launchers, and the town of Avdiyivka was under sniper fire," the press service wrote on Facebook on Thursday evening.

"While the Ukrainian side has been withdrawing weapons, including mortars, [from the contact line] under the Minsk agreements, the terrorists are firing at residential quarters from the banned weapons," the press center said.

At 11:15 local time on Thursday, militants attacked Krasnohorivka with 82mm caliber mortars. One shell exploded near houses at 6 Soniachna Street in the town.
