Kernes wins Kharkiv mayoral elections, 4 parties get seats in city council – OPORA's parallel vote count

According to a parallel ballot count conducted by the OPORA civil network, incumbent mayor Hennadiy Kernes has won the Kharkiv mayoral election having received 65.88% of the vote, while his closest rival, leader of the Kharkiv regional branch of the Samopomich Union Taras Sitenko, came second with 12.25% of the vote.

The rest of candidates received less than 5% of the vote, coordinator of the OPORA civil network, Olha Aivazovska, said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

In addition, OPORA conducted a parallel count of ballots in the elections to Kharkiv City Council. According to its data, four political parties will receive seats in the city council - Vidrodzhennia (Revival) Party with 53.45% (more than 251,000 votes), Samopomich Union with 12.01% (about 56,500), Petro Poroshenko Bloc "Solidarity" 6.76% (about 32,000), and Nash Kray with 6.62% (more than 31,000). Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Association, with 3.41% of the vote, failed to overcome the election threshold.
