The leaders of Germany, France, Ukraine and Russia may meet in the Normandy Format again before the end of 2015, Director of the Department of Policy and Communications of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleksiy Makeyev has said.

The first step to regaining control over the Ukrainian-Russian border was made during the meeting of leaders of the 'Normandy Quartet' in Paris, Makeyev said on Hromadske.tv channel on Wednesday evening

According to him, this will become possible after OSCE observers gain access to the border and report this to Vienna.

Makeyev also said the leaders discussed the ways in which Normandy Quartet representatives can discuss current issues.

"Firstly, if necessary, the leaders can always talk on the phone, and it can happen at any time. There was a preliminary agreement that the foreign ministers can assess the implementation of agreements and the progress in the full implementation of the Minsk agreements in November, and the leaders of the Normandy format may meet once again before the end of the year," Makeyev said.
