Financing defense sector must be at least 3% of GDP – Military Doctrine of Ukraine

The new Military Doctrine of Ukraine says that financing the defense sector every year is to be at least 3% of GDP.

"Expenses on defense must be at least 3% of projected GDP for the relevant year to achieve goals of the Military Doctrine," reads the document posted on the president's website.

According to the document, top-priorities in financing defense is heavy training of military units, the realization of the state defense order, the implementation of the state earmarked program on developing and reforming the defense and industrial complex, the provision of effective functions of the intelligence service of Ukraine and the accomplishment of social and legal guarantees of military servicemen and their families.
