Truce lasts south of Donetsk, in Mariupol sector – Kyiv

The ceasefire lasts in the south of Donetsk and in the entire Mariupol sector, Ukrainian Presidential Administration spokesman Oleksandr Motuzianyk has said.

"The truce is being fully observed south of Donetsk and throughout the Mariupol sector," he said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.

"All was quiet yesterday in the Luhansk region, along the Svitlodarsk bulge near Horlivka and on the Dovzhansky-Yasynuvata stretch of the frontline," Motuzianyk said.

Two shelling incidents were observed near the Donetsk airport, south of Avdiyivka and near Spartak, by use of small arms and grenade launchers, the administration spokesman said.

There were minor tensions near Krasnohorivka and Maryinka where small arms were fired in the evening, he said.

Motuzianyk claimed that the militants had used heavy weapons for the first time in four days: a 120mm mortar fired at Ukrainian positions near Novotoshkivske on the Bakhmutka highway. He said the militants also staged provocations by use of small arms near Schastia and Krymske.
