Russia proposes meeting of 'Normandy Four' foreign ministers in next 10-12 days - Lavrov

Moscow has proposed holding a meeting of the 'Normandy Four' foreign ministers in the next ten to twelve days in development of the telephone conversation of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the leaders of Ukraine, France and Germany.

"In development of the telephone conversation between our president and President Petro Poroshenko, French President Francois Hollande and German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, we have proposed to hold a meeting of foreign ministers in the 'Normandy format' within the next ten to twelve days in order to accentuate the problem of negotiability of all parties to the Minsk agreements and to find ways to deal with the obstacles on their way," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told MGIMO University students on Tuesday.

"We are expecting an affirmative answer of our partners, at least German Federal Chancellor Merkel backed that idea in the conversation with our president," Lavrov said.
