Upgraded ICU opened in Kramatorsk town hospital – Donetsk Regional Administration

An upgraded intensive care unit (ICU) in Kramatorsk town hospital 3 was opened on Monday as part of the events in Donetsk region to mark the 24th Day of Ukrainian Independence.

The press service of Donetsk Regional Administration reported that head of the Donetsk regional military-civilian administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky attended the opening ceremony of the unit. The unit was overhauled using national budget funds. The total cost was UAH 3.5 million.

"Medical equipment worth around UAH 6 million was bought. The work of the unit is organized so that each seriously ill patient has their own medical station. This would allow for quickly reacting to any worsening of the state of patients. Doctors promise that the work of the unit would aid quicker recovery, the number of days spent in the hospital would be reduced, and the quality of the further rehabilitation of patients would be improved," the report said.

The press service of Donetsk Regional Administration also reported that Zhebrivsky gave the green light to the traditional bike ride "Riding paths of Oleksa Tykhy," to honor the memory of the famous Ukrainian human rights activist. Last year, the bike ride did not take place due to the occupation of the northern part of Donetsk region by militants.
