Ukrainian foreign minister proposes compiling sanction list of Russians involved in Savchenko's, Sentsov's prosecution

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has proposed compiling a sanction list of Russian individuals "responsible for illegally holding Ukrainians in Russia, including Oleh Sentsov and Nadia Savchenko."

"I believe we should gradually switch to talking about a Sentsov-Savchenko list. This must be a concrete sanction list. Just as was the case with [Sergei] Magnitsky, we need this sanction list now. And no one in Russia who is related to these unfair decisions should feel secure. We will be working on this," Klimkin said on the Inter television channel on Tuesday evening.

The North Caucasus Military District Court found Sentsov guilty of plotting terrorist attacks in Crimea in 2014 and sentenced him to 20 years in a high-security penitentiary on Tuesday. The court also sentenced Oleksandr Kolchenko to 10 years in a high-security penitentiary in the same proceeding.

Savchenko has been under arrest in Russia since July 2014 on charges of complicity in the killing of Russian journalists Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin in the Luhansk region. She has never admitted her guilt.

Savchenko is to be tried by the Donetsk City Court in the Rostov region.
