Shelling cuts off power supply to five water filtering stations in DPR

Five filtering stations that supply water to the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) are having a power outage amid shelling, the Mariupol Defense public organization said in a report posted on Facebook on Friday.

"As of now, shelling has cut off the power supply to five filtering stations operated by Voda Donbasa, namely the Horlivka filtering station that supplies water to Horlivka and Dzerzhynsk, the Krasmoarmiysk filtering station servicing Krasnoarmiysk, Selydove, Dobropillia and Dmytrove, and the Anadol filtering station servicing Volnovakha and Dokuchayevsk," the report said.

It also mentioned problems with potable water treatment and supply at the Yenakiyeve filtering station which brings water to Volnovakha, Torez and Snizhne.

The filtering station is taking water from a reserve dam lake as the Seversky Donets-Donbas canal has been damaged.

So far, reservoirs have enough water for another four weeks of steady supply.
