Polish President Andrzej Duda has introduced a new format of talks on restoring peace in Donetsk and Luhansk regions to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko with the participation of a broad coalition of European and neighbor countries, including Poland.

"The Polish president emphasized that during a phone talk with Petro Poroshenko he proposed that strongest European countries, Ukraine's neighbor countries, including Poland, participate in talks on restoring peace," the Radio Poland website reported, referring to the Duda's interview.

He said that the discussion of the issue should start, but he warned that first he wants to discuss the details at a meeting with Poroshenko.

"Duda said that at present, representatives of the two sides are preparing for a meeting where the details of talks between Polish and Ukrainian presidents will be discussed," reads the posting.

Earlier the official website of the Polish president reported on the phone talk between heads of states. The presidents of Poland and Ukraine confirmed the need to strengthen efforts for peace in Ukraine to be made by a broad coalition of states, including Poland, in their phone conversation held Friday.

Duda's special envoy minister Krzysztof Szczerski will go to Ukraine shortly to work out a detailed plan of contacts in future.
