Poroshenko, Nazarbayev agree to intensify preparations for Ukrainian president's visit to Kazakhstan

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed the preparation of Ukrainian President's official visit to Kazakhstan in autumn over the phone.

"The parties agreed to initiate the preparation for Petro Poroshenko's official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan scheduled for autumn 2015 upon Nursultan Nazarbayev's invitation," the press service of Ukrainian President reported.

Poroshenko congratulated Nazarbayev on the completion of the negotiations on Kazakhstan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), saying it opens up big prospects for bilateral trade and economic cooperation based on the principles and norms of the organization.

"The meeting also addressed the issue of bilateral economic cooperation, specifically, in the sphere of aircraft construction," the press service has reported.

During the conversation, Poroshenko said he is convinced that the Ukraine-EU free trade zone, which will begin working on January 1, 2016, will open up new opportunities to intensify Ukrainian-Kazakh interaction, including its investment component.

The Ukrainian president also informed his counterpart about the situation in Donbas.
