Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) has confirmed the arrest of houses and bank accounts in Italy of Oleksiy, son of former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.

According to the PGO's press service, the materials of a pre-trial investigation into Oleksiy Azarov, who is suspected of illegal enrichment, are being worked on by the Main Investigatory Directorate of the PGO.

The property belonging to the company managed by Oleksiy Azarov was discovered while the PGO was verifying information given by its respective Italian agency.

A prosecutor recently addressed a judge in Pechersky district court of Kyiv requesting the arrest of the above-mentioned company's property, the owner of which is de facto Oleksiy Azarov, in particular, his bank accounts and houses in the city of Olbia.

On July 28, the court satisfied the request.

The decision was sent to the respective Italian authorities to be executed as a part of the international program of mutual assistance in procedural actions.
