Russia said a lot to global community by vetoing MH17 tribunal resolution – Groysman

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has said that the decision of Russia to block a draft resolution of the UN Security Council, which would have set up an international criminal tribunal to investigate the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 disaster in eastern Ukraine in July 2014, was predictable and demonstrative to the global community.

"As one expected, Russia blocked a resolution of the UN Security Council that meant to establish the international tribunal to investigate the downing of the Malaysian Airlines Boeing. Russia was the one which voted against, but since it is a permanent member of the Security Council the document was vetoed. In my opinion, this fact said a lot to the international community," he wrote on Facebook on Thursday morning.

However, Groysman stressed that Ukraine won't stop trying to bring those responsible to justice, saying "we'll apply all efforts to try all direct perpetrators, as well as the organizers of this terrible murder."

"International criminals must be punished despite their high positions," he added.
