Ukraine, Norway agree measures to lower corruption risks to Ukrainian Defense Ministry management

Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak and State Secretary of the Norwegian Defense Ministry Oystein Bo have discussed measures to reduce the risk of corruption in the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

After a Norwegian delegation visited Kyiv, the two countries' ministries signed a protocol to develop and implement a project to reduce corruption risks in the Ukrainian Defense Ministry personnel management system, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's press service reported on Wednesday.

"We highly appreciate the possibility of cooperation with the Kingdom of Norway and hope that the signed document will help open a new horizon for the bilateral cooperation," Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Petro Mekhed said.

Bo in turn confirmed that the government of Norway is ready to support Ukraine in every way possible in its aspirations for change, adding his country would lend its shoulder to Ukraine in implementing reforms.
