150 Ukrainian peacekeepers depart for Liberia
As part of another rotation of the 56th separate helicopter detachment of Ukraine's Armed Forces, a total of 150 servicemen left from Mykolaiv airport on Tuesday morning to serve in the United Nations' mission in Liberia.
A task force made up of nine officers of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces will be accompanying the Ukrainian peacekeepers and providing instructional support services, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's press service said.
The second stage of the rotation is scheduled for December 22.
As reported, 139 servicemen retuned to Ukraine on Monday after completing a United Nations mission in Liberia.
Ukrainian peacekeepers of the 11th rotation of the 56th separate helicopter detachment of Ukraine's Armed Forces spent 2,190 hours in flight, transported 7,078 passengers and over 585 tonnes of cargo during their six-month deployment in Liberia.
