BRSM-Nafta wants to involve intl experts in investigation of fire at oil depot

BRSM-Nafta company plans to involve international experts in the investigation of the fire set at its oil depot in Vasylkiv district of Kyiv region, BRSM-Nafta Strategic Marketing Department Director Oleksandr Melnychuk said at a press conference held at Interfax-Ukraine on Friday.

"All previous cases [explosions and fires at BRSM-Nafta filling stations which the company considered as terrorist' attacks] were not properly investigated, and we are not waiting for aid from the state and want to attract international experts," he said.

FreezeOil (the co-owner BRSM-Nafta) Board Chairman Roland Pieper said that they will be famous experts.

"We want to attract even the experts who investigated into the MH17 disaster in eastern Ukraine," he said.

Melnychuk and Pieper said that BRSM-Nafta believes that the main cause of the oil depot fire was a terrorist attack.

The company announced an award of UAH 1 million for information on the cause of the fire.

Melnychuk said that the oil depot observed all the safety rules. Only petrol, diesel fuel and lubricants were stored at the depot.
