Working group on security scheduled to meet in Minsk on May 19 - OSCE

A meeting of the working group on security of the Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine is scheduled to take place in Minsk on May 19, Alexander Hug, deputy head of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM), said.

The sides have agreed that the agreements on the withdrawal of tanks, 100 mm mortars and the documents on ceasefire in Shyrokyne are to be finalized by this date, Hug told a briefing on Friday.

Ukraine is represented in the working group on security by former defense minister Yevhen Marchuk. The group is headed by Ertugrul Apakan, the chief monitor of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (OSCE SMM).

The Contact Group working group on economics met in Minsk on Thursday, May 14. The self-proclaimed DPR said the Trilateral Contact Group will only meet after all four working groups have met.
