Ukraine's national security and defense council (NSDC) on Wednesday approved a set of measures to speed up the pace of construction of fortified structures in the country's east.

"A set of measures has been approved to expedite the construction of fortified lines and boundaries, the bolstering of the state's defenses and security, and the development of a system of providing medical services for the army," NSDC spokesperson said after its meeting in Kyiv on Wednesday.

"The heads of the Donetsk and Zakarpattia state administrations have been issued with a reprimand for failing to meet the deadlines for construction of the defensive lines," the spokesperson said.
