OSCE mission prevented from visiting eastern Shyrokyne again

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (OSCE SMM) has failed to visit the eastern part of militants-controlled Shyrokyne near Mariupol in the Donetsk region for the third time in four days.

"We have been prevented from accessing the eastern part of Shyrokyne by the local "DPR" commander, despite assurances from the so-called "DPR" leadership," the mission wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

OSCE SMM Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug repeated that "SMM access to all places in Ukraine is not a matter of negotiation, and that restricting this free access interferes with the mandate given to the SMM by 57 participating States of the OSCE, including Ukraine and the Russian Federation," it wrote.
