JCCC presents suggestions on demilitarizing Shyrokyne – ATO HQ

Head of the Ukrainian section of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Andriy Taran has presented suggestions on the demilitarization of areas near Shyrokyne to OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) deputy head Alexander Hug and a representative of the Russian Armed Forces, the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) press service reported on Facebook on Sunday.

"Ukraine thinks that demilitarization of the village of Shyrokyne is a priority issue. In addition, the Minsk agreements, as well as the principles and criteria defined by them must be used as a basis for all further work in this direction," Taran said.

He said that the plan to demilitarize Shyrokyne foresees a complete ceasefire, the withdrawal of both sides' forces to a certain distance, the installation of web-cameras, and the village and its adjacent areas being cleared of mines by Ukrainian experts.

According to Taran, Ukraine has fulfilled its obligations to the trilateral group and prepared the related documents on time.
