Nearly 30 Ukrainians detained by Russian law enforcement – SBU

Almost 30 Ukrainian citizens continue to be detained in Russia, accused of crimes by Russian law enforcement agencies, director of the Ukrainian Security Service's (SBU) Main Investigative Department, Vasyl Vovk, has said.

"There are approximately 30 people there, who [have been accused of] crimes by Russian law enforcement agencies. Whether it's right or not, under falsified proceedings or not – we will determine later," Vovk said on Channel 5 TV on Saturday.

He also added that the case against Ukrainian pilot, MP Nadia Savchenko, who remains in Russian captivity, is fabricated

In addition, Vovk said that there are 170 people detained in Ukraine thanks to the efforts of the SBU.

"We currently have 170 people in custody. They were arrested by us, the SBU... They are under SBU investigation," Vovk said.
