Defense, national security and foreign policy of Ukraine not affected by decentralization - Poroshenko

The decentralization planned in Ukraine will not affect defense, security and foreign policy issues, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.

"There is a range of issues in which the role of the center will, on the contrary, increase […] These issues are defense, national security and foreign policy issues," Poroshenko said at a meeting of the constitutional commission in Kyiv on Monday.

Poroshenko also said decentralization will not affect citizens' rights and freedoms and issues relating to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine.

Poroshenko also pointed out the importance of ensuring effective coordination of actions with the anti-corruption center.
