The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has drawn up a list of Russian media outlets to execute the parliamentary resolution on the suspension of the accreditation of journalists and other staff of some Russian media outlets in Ukraine.

"The list has been drawn up and on February 19 it was sent to the parliament. The list includes over 100 Russian media outlets. The decision for each outlet was made separately after the thorough check of their content," SBU spokesperson Olena Hytlianska told Interfax-Ukraine on Saturday.

She said that the list includes representatives of television channels, news agencies, newspapers and online resources.

Hytlianska added that this concerns those Russian media outlets which are registered in Russia.

As reported, the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada passed the resolution on February 12.

The resolution stipulates that the suspension of the accreditation of journalists and other staff, i.e. producers, camera operators, etc., of some Russian media outlets will be in force until the conclusion of military operations in eastern Ukraine.

The SBU was to urgently draw up a list of Russian media outlets whose members' accreditation will be suspended, in line with the Rada resolution.

The parliament instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to compile the accreditation rules for journalists and technical staff working for foreign media outlets within a month after the resolution comes into force.

The resolution came in effect on the day it is approved.
