Moscow frustrated with EU Foreign Affairs Council's decisions – Russian Foreign Ministry

The decisions adopted by the European Union's Foreign Affairs Council on January 29 cause disappointment, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a commentary.

"The European Union persists in maintaining its policy towards putting a further strain on its already tense relations with Russia," it said.

Moscow believes that "such a lop-sided interpretation by Brussels of the situation in the internal Ukrainian conflict strips it of any opportunity to act as an "impartial broker"," the ministry said.

"As far as the Russian side is concerned, our specific proposals concerning both the settlement of the crisis in Ukraine and reviving a constructive European process remain valid," it said.
