MNP service introduction requires obligatory identification of subscribers - Kyivstar
The introduction of the MNP service (Mobile Number Portability) in Ukraine requires the obligatory identification of subscribers.
President of JSC Kyivstar Petro Chernyshov told this to Interfax-Ukraine on the sidelines of the Ukrainian breakfast organized by Pinchuk Foundation in the days of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Chernyshov noted that the operator does not oppose the introduction of the service, however a number of technical issues should be resolved. One of them is the identification of subscribers, without which the introduction of the service will be complicated.
Another problem to be settled is the problem of the possible debt of subscribers, who want to take advantage of the service, to the donor operator.
"These are two minimum issues that constrain the implementation of the service. The regulator must speak on this subject," Chernyshov said.
