NATO providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine
NATO member states have started to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, the press service of the NATO department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday.
In response to a request from Ukrainian Foreign Minister Petro Poroshenko, the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) distributed a special circular among the alliance's member and partner states, which contains detailed information on the situation with the spread of the flu epidemic in Ukraine and its urgent needs in this connection.
Poland and Slovakia have already rendered first humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, in particular, 200,000 medical respirators and masks, Tamiflu medicine, and special eyeglasses.
A number of other member states of NATO are also expected soon to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
