An opinion poll suggests six parties have a chance of passing the minimum 5%-vote threshold to win seats in Ukraine's parliament to be elected this weekend.

The Horshenin Institute said 24.2% of respondents in a survey it had conducted this month were planning to vote for the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, 10.4% for Batkivschyna (Fatherland), 7.9% for the People's Front, 7.4% for the Radical Party of Oleh Liashko, 5.4% for Civil Position, and 5.3% for Samopomich (Self-Help).

Horshenin Institute sociologist Liudmyla Chetvertukhyna said at a news conference in Kyiv on Wednesday that 4.9% of those questioned were going to vote for Opposition Bloc and 4% for Strong Ukraine.

Svoboda had the support of 3%, the Communist Party of 2.1% and Right Sector of 1.2% of respondents, 1.7% were planning to vote for other parties, 19% were still trying to make up their minds about which party to vote for, and 3.5% were undecided.

Horshenin Institute interviewed 2,000 people in the survey, which was conducted on October 12-21.
