Case on attempt to kill parliamentary candidate Borysenko reclassified into terrorist attack – PGO

A criminal case on an attempt to kill parliamentary candidate in the constituency No. 98 (Boryspil, Kyiv region), Volodymyr Borysenko, has been reclassified from an attempt on somebody's life into terrorist attack, Prosecutor General's Office press service reported.

Under the report, on October 20, when Borysenko entered his house, he was shot at, and in few minutes unknown device blasted near the politician. He was delivered to the hospital with a soft tissue bruise.

The Main Investigative Department of Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and Kyiv region was charged with carrying a pre-trial inquiry. The criminal case now is qualified under the Part 1, Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Earlier adviser to Ukrainian Interior Minister Anton Heraschenko reported that a grenade RGD-5 has been thrown into the politician and there was at attempt to shot him with short-barreled arms.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has ordered Security Service of Ukraine Chief Valentyn Nalyvaichenko to immediately hold an investigation into an attempted murder of parliamentary candidate Volodymyr Borysenko.

Advisor to Ukrainian Interior Minister Anton Heraschenko wrote on Facebook that in late hours of Monday there was an attempt to kill parliamentary candidate Borysenko.

"When he came into the yard to feed his dog, he was shot from the fire-arms, and a hand-made smoke-puff charge has been thrown under his foot. A body armor, which he recently was wearing after receiving threatening telephone calls, saved his life," said a report.
